Congratulations!
Massage and Bodywork is one of the most rewarding occupations
in the world. You can find whatever type of massage technique
that suits you, and create a clinical
or spiritual environment. The options availble to you, as
someone just starting out, are numerous and varied. If you
are not familiar with all the different types of massage,
you might look here: Types
of Massage If you are not sure where to look for massage
schools, you might start with a great book by Rosemary Jones
called, Educational and Career Opportunities in Alternative
Medicine. The book looks at over 40 careers and hundreds of
courses. Click

There are many organizations to which you might want to belong (Massage Network being the first!) The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is a powerful lobbying organization with many benefits. The American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association is another organization to which you might choose to belong, catering to (you guessed it) Oriental Bodywork. You might want to visit The Associated Bodyworkers and Massage Professionals Homepage, another large and powerful lobbying group for massage professionals. If you are wondering where to locate your business and what the laws might be in your neck of the woods, you can check out the law by selecting your state from the "State Requirements" drop down menu above. After finding out what your laws might be, you should always check you local ordinances, because they do differ widely.
